I really liked Alex, Approximately and Lost Girls. I've been reading some new authors to me recently and have been enjoying them. Erin Fletcher is another I've enjoyed.

The best YA contemporary novel I've read lately is Four Weeks, Five People by Jennifer Yu. Anything involving mental health always intrigues me (which is why I studied psychology in school), and this one did not disappoint.

The 2 most recent contemporaries that I read that I really liked were: Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell and Wrecked by Maira Padian.
I don't read that many contemporaries compared to the other genres I usually read but I usually do enjoy reading them when I do.

The last YA book I read was a Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas which just... blew me away. After re-reading the whole series to read the latest book, it amazed me the breadcrumbs of information and characters you met right at the beginning and instantly dismissed actually were incredibly important later on. I admit freely I cried several times, even when you weren't supposed too.
